We are seeking a Junior Finance Clerk to support the finance team with day-to-day financial and administrative duties. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual looking to build a career in finance and accounting within a structured, professional environment.
Minimum Requirements:
• Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
• 1–2 years’ experience in a finance, accounting, or administrative role.
• Experience with Pastel and Sync (ERP).
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Advantageous: Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Transaction Processing
• Accurately process financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and inter-branch transactions.
• Enter financial data into accounting systems and maintain up-to-date records.
Record Keeping & Documentation
• Maintain organised and complete supporting documentation for transactions.
• File and retrieve financial documents as required for audits and reviews.
Reconciliations & Accounts Support
• Assist with account reconciliations (i.e. Supplier accounts, bank statements).
• Help identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
• Month-End & Year-End Support
• Support finance team with monthly and year-end processes such as balance confirmation and reporting.
• Compile and prepare financial summaries or reports for review.
Liaison & Compliance
• Communicate with internal departments to support financial operations.
• Ensure adherence to internal financial procedures, policies and external regulations.
Ad-hoc Administrative Duties
• Provide general administrative support to the finance function.
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office; basic experience with accounting systems is beneficial.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication, especially in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This is a full-time, on-site role, ideal for a motivated junior candidate eager to grow within a finance function.
